Intro
Hillside Poolscape
This High Falls project reimagined a rural hillside into a refined landscape, centered around a 50-foot black gunite pool. The design balanced clean architectural lines with a soft, seasonal meadow, creating harmony between structure and nature.

Challenges
High Falls Meadow Pool
Tucked into the rolling hills of High Falls, New York, this project transformed a raw, open landscape into a serene and sculptural retreat. A sleek 8-by-50-foot black gunite pool anchors the design, stretching toward the mountain views with quiet confidence. Surrounding it, we planted a sprawling native meadow—carefully layered to bloom in waves throughout the seasons—creating an ever-changing perimeter of color and texture. Stone steps lead down to the pool's edge, where a sculptural patio made of reclaimed slabs creates a grounding place to gather. The result is a quietly dramatic landscape that feels timeless, effortless, and fully connected to its surroundings.

Outcome
A Quiet Sense of Arrival
The completed landscape feels like a natural extension of the surrounding hills—calm, elemental, and deeply connected to place. The long, narrow black pool reflects the sky and tree canopy, grounding the space with stillness and simplicity. Stone paths and sculptural elements lend texture and permanence, while the meadow planting provides movement and seasonal variation. What once felt raw and unstructured now offers rhythm, beauty, and a quiet sense of arrival—an enduring retreat that shifts gently with time.
